What is the automatic transfer switch ATSE?
An automatic transfer switch or ATSE is a transfer switch used in conjunction with a diesel generator or other backup power supply to automatically switch between the power supply and the generator or backup power supply in the event of a power failure. The generator will start/stop automatically according to the mains.
Why is automatic transfer switch (ATSE )important?
Each country requires an installation transfer switch (manual or automatic) for the installation of generators in places with mains electricity. The law requires this for good reason. This can avoid the occurrence of accidents:
- The main power is in contact with the generator, which would almost certainly burn out if that happened.
- When generators fail, it prevents them from feeding back power, endangering the lives of utility workers.
- In terms of importance, the manual and automatic switches perform the same function, but the automatic transfer switch ATS panel completes the process automatically, saving time and reducing power outages.
This is the interior of a small ATS with electric switches for conversion – contactor, MCCB and ACB may also be used depending on their size and customer requirements.
